Welcome to Engram! Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before downloading, installing, or using the Engram mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the developer of the App. If you do not agree to any of these terms, please immediately remove and stop using the App.

2. License Grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable, and limited license to download, install, and run the App on Apple-branded products that you own or control, strictly for your personal, non-commercial self-study use, in accordance with these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service.

3. User Obligations and Restrictions

You agree that you will not:

• Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, decrypt, or attempt to derive the source code of the App or any part thereof.
• Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App.
• Use the App for any illegal, harmful, malicious, or unauthorized purpose.
• Attempt to interfere with our online vocabulary server or misuse our resource distribution API endpoints.

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases (IAP)

Engram offers premium features ("Engram Pro") through auto-renewable subscriptions (Monthly and Yearly). By choosing to subscribe, you agree to the following conditions:

• Billing: Payment will be charged to your iTunes/App Store Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the same price and duration period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Account Settings: You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase.
• Cancellations and Refunds: All payments, subscription states, cancellations, and refunds are handled entirely by Apple according to App Store billing rules. The developer cannot issue refunds or manage active StoreKit subscriptions directly.

5. Content and Academic Disclaimer

All vocabulary books, pronunciations, English-Chinese definitions, example sentences, and study tools are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis for educational and reference purposes. While we continuously proofread and refine the databases, we do not warrant the absolute accuracy, completeness, or suitability of the contents for any standardized academic exam. The developer is not liable for any learning discrepancies or academic outcomes.

6. Intellectual Property

The App's source code, user interface designs, custom interactive animations, vocabulary data layout, trademark symbols, and logos are the exclusive intellectual property of the developer and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App's operation will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of software bugs.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any personal injury, or any incidental, special, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, loss of data/learning progress, or business interruption) arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the App.

9. Modification of Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. When a revision is made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App following any modifications indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
